Avenue 3E Bridge, Gila Ridge to 24th St. - ADOT; 16th Street at Pacific Avenue; 28th Street, 8th Avenue to Virginia closed 8/16; Avenue 3E, I-8 through North Frontage Road; Avenue C, 8th Street to 1st Street; 32nd Street, avenues A to B manholes and striping; Araby Road near 24th Street - Century Link; Upcoming: Avenue A from 8th to 16th

Avenue 3E Bridge, 24th Street to Gila Ridge Road - ADOT

Avenue 3E between Gila Ridge Road and 24th Street in Yuma will require temporary one-lane closures while workers pour concrete alongside the bridge on Thursday, Aug. 23 and Friday, Aug. 24, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Crews are scheduled to close one northbound turn lane at the intersection of Avenue 3E and Gila Ridge Road between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. Business access will be maintained, but speed limits will be reduced in the work zone.

16th Street at Pacific Avenue

Work is under way on private property improvements in the southeast corner of 16th Street and Pacific Avenue that will result in 16th Street being reduced to one lane of eastbound traffic and restricted left turns from southbound Pacific onto eastbound 16th.

28th Street at 4th Avenue - Thursday night

The City of Yuma will conduct maintenance work on its water distribution system overnight beginning 10 p.m. Thursday evening. At that time, 28th Street will be closed between 8th Avenue and Virginia Drive, and left turns will be prohibited at the 4th Avenue intersection. Northbound 4th Avenue traffic will occupy the center turn lane through that intersection. Traffic will be restored in all directions by 7 a.m. Friday.

Avenue 3E, I-8 through North Frontage Road

Beginning Monday, Aug. 20, Avenue 3E will be reduced to one lane each direction from I-8 to where the road narrows to 2 lanes to accommodate work on water system valves. Project is expected to continue through the end of the week.

Avenue C, 8th Street to 1st Street and Figueroa - Yuma County

Avenue C is open to local traffic only between 5th Street and Riverside Drive in this Yuma County street widening and City water main installation project. Through traffic should use Avenue B between 8th Street and 1st Street.

32nd Street, Avenue A to Avenue B

Crews are raising utilities to grade this week and next, resulting in isolated lane restrictions on 32nd Street between avenues A and B. Should this phase complete in time, permanent lane markers will be installed at the end of next week, and then this project will be complete.

Also, Dunes subdivision residents should now resume using 15th Avenue as their entry and exit point. The fire access gate in the rear of the subdivision has been closed with the completion of the 15th/32nd intersection.

Araby Road near 24th Street - Century Link

Century Link will be upgrading their facilities on Araby Road near 24th Street. Sidewalks will be closed during this monthlong project.

Upcoming

Avenue A between 8th Street and 16th Street

Construction is expected to begin in late August on Avenue A. A contractor working for the City will remove and replace the pavement on Avenue A between 8th Street and 16th Street. This project includes drainage improvements and some isolated water line installations in this area. The project also includes pavement replacement at Marcus Pool and at the intersection of 12th Street and Avenue B, northwest corner. Project duration is expected to be 3-1/2 months, according to the contract.
