Avenue A Closure Moves to South Side; North Frontage Road, Avenue 9E to Avenue 10E; Crack Seal Teams Continue on Parts of Ave C, 30th St.; Avenue C, 8th Street to 1st Street; 32nd Street Bonanza to Crest; 32nd Street Chevy Lane to Bonanza; Upcoming: 3E Bridge; Avenue A from 8th to 16th

32nd Street reconstruction, Avenue A to Avenue B

Beginning 4 a.m. Saturday, July 28, Avenue A will be closed to all traffic immediately south of 32nd Street. This will hold until all pavement operations are complete in the area. Traffic should detour by using 8th Avenue and 36th Street to rejoin Avenue A.

Paving continues this weekend on 32nd Street between Avenue A and Avenue B, followed by temporary lane striping. 32nd Street will be open to all traffic through this project zone by Monday.

Traffic signals installed at the 32nd Street intersections with 15th Avenue and 21st Drive could receive power hookups by this weekend and if so may be operational by the end of next week.

North Frontage Road, Avenue 9E to Avenue 10E

On Monday, July 30, North Frontage Road will be closed 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Avenue 9E & Avenue 10E. Detour by using 28th Street between Avenue 10E and Avenue 9E. Crews will perform a grinding and sweeping operation that will level off uneven areas of pavement in this area.

City of Yuma Street Maintenance

City workers will conduct grinding and sweeping operations the week of Monday, July 30 in the following locations:

• Avenue C from 32nd Street to 40th Street (crack sealing and grinding)
• 32nd Street from Avenue C to Avenue D (grinding and sweeping)
• 33rd Drive from 24th Street to 28th Street (grinding and sweeping)
• 25th Street from 19th Avenue to 21st Drive (grinding and sweeping).
• Pheiffer Estates subdivision (crack sealing and grinding)
  

Avenue C, 8th Street to 1st Street and Figueroa - Yuma County

Avenue C is open to local traffic only between 8th Street and Riverside Drive in this Yuma County street widening and City water main installation project. Through traffic should use Avenue B between 8th Street and 1st Street.

32nd Street, Bonanza to Crest - Private Water and Sewer Installation

32nd Street will experience a series of lane closures between Bonanza Avenue and Crest Drive for water and sewer connections to be made to a private business. The speed limit on 32nd Street will be reduced to 25 mph in this work zone. Work is scheduled to take place for one month.

32nd Street Near Chevy Lane - Private Driveway

Following completion of Bonanza to Crest project (above), the right eastbound lane of 32nd Street will be closed between Chiquita Drive/Chevy Lane and Bonanza Avenue for approximately one month to give crews room to install a right turn lane.

Upcoming

Avenue A Between 8th Street and 16th Street

A contractor working for the City will remove and replace the pavement on Avenue A between 8th Street and 16th Street. This project includes drainage improvements and some isolated water line installations in this area. The project also includes pavement replacement at Marcus Pool and at the intersection of 12th Street and Avenue B, northwest corner. Construction is expected to begin in late August; the contract calls for a project duration of 3-1/2 months.

Avenue 3E Bridge, 24th Street to Gila Ridge Road

Construction is expected to begin in August on the widening of the Avenue 3E bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. Two-way traffic is expected to be maintained during expansion of the bridge, which will be built to include three lanes each direction when complete. There will be some speed limit reductions during this project.
