Avenue A Closure, 32nd Street to Holly Drive; Crack Seal Teams to Work on 32nd Between C and D; Roundabout; Avenue C, 8th Street to 1st Street ; 4th Avenue at 4th Street - Southwest Gas; Avenue 3E at Aldrich Street; 8th Street at 12th Avenue - Southwest Gas; Avenue B at 16th, 20th Streets - Century Link
32nd Street Reconstruction, Avenue A Area
Avenue A is closed to all traffic in both directions between 32nd Street and Holly Drive. Through traffic should detour using 8th Avenue or 4th Avenue, taking 28th Street or 24th Street to rejoin Avenue A. Estimated duration of this closure is 3 weeks. Depending on delivery of parts, traffic signal installation could take place as soon as June 20 at 15th Avenue and at 21st Drive.
City of Yuma Street Maintenance
City workers will conduct crack seal and grinding operations the week of Monday, June 18 in the following locations:
- Pecan Grove subdivision
- 33rd Drive from 24th Street to 28th Street
- Traffic circle (roundabout) of Giss Parkway and Madison Avenue
- 32nd Street from Avenue C to Avenue D
Avenue C, 8th Street to 1st Street and Figueroa - Yuma County
Yuma County is widening Avenue C from 8th Street to Figueroa Street and 1st Street and installing a City Of Yuma water main. Avenue C has new pavement but continued lane restrictions from 8th Street to Amador Lane. A temporary surface remains in place between Amador and Riverside Drive, so Avenue C is open to local traffic only. On the north side of the project, the section between Riverside Drive and Figueroa Street has new pavement but otherwise remains restricted to one lane in each direction and is open to local traffic only. Through traffic should detour using 8th Street and Avenue B to 1st Street.
4th Avenue at 4th Street - Southwest Gas
Southwest Gas will schedule a pipe sleeve installation to be placed across 4th Avenue. at 4th Street starting Monday, June 18. 4th Avenue will be restricted to one lane in each direction during work hours, and 4th Street will be closed between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue. Crews will cut a trench across 4th Avenue halfway in one direction, place the pipeline, backfill, patch with temporary cold asphalt mix and then reopen 4th Avenue daily on Monday and Tuesday. Then on Wednesday and possibly Thursday, a second contractor will follow up with final permanent paving; a similar pattern of lane restrictions will result.
Avenue 3E at Aldrich Street
Southbound Avenue 3E motorists will experience lane restrictions and speed limit reductions in the vicinity of Aldrich Street, where a private contractor will install a sewer pipeline. Work is expected to complete by mid-July.
8th Street at 12th Avenue
The right eastbound lane of 8th Street will be closed approaching 12th Avenue when Southwest Gas conducts repair of a leak in this area. Work will take one or two days and date will be within the next month.
Avenue B at 16th Street, 20th Street - Century Link
Century Link has scheduled work in the southbound lane of Avenue B replacing fiber optic cable within the next two months. Lane restrictions will occur in and approaching the intersections with 16th Street and 20th Street.
