Injury Traffic Collision at Walgreens

On Monday, June 27, 2011 at 7:47 am, Yuma Police and Fire Department personnel responded to a single-vehicle injury collision at Walgreens, 1150 W 8th Street with a person trapped in the vehicle.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2008 Nissan Altima, being driven by 83 year old, Raymond Robinson of Yuma, drove his vehicle on to the walkway and collided against the building. The vehicle was embedded between the building wall and pillars in front of the store. All normal access was blocked to the injured driver. The "Jaws of Life" was used to remove the vehicle's roof, allowing Yuma Fire paramedics to safely extricate the driver.
The driver was transported to the hospital with multiple injuries. No other injuries were reported.
