No Re-Opening Time Determined
Yuma, Arizona - The City of Yuma Parks and Recreation Department placed signs this morning informing users of the Bark Park, 1705 E. Palo Verde St., that the park is closed due to recent and expected rains until further notice.
The park, which is the only off-leash park for dogs and dog owners in Yuma, was constructed on the site of a retention basin located between a major shopping center at the southwest corner of Palo Verde Street and Pacific Avenue and a residential neighborhood to the west. The settling of recent rainwater there is expected, as it is the function of the site's original design.
The City of Yuma apologizes for any inconvenience to dog owners caused by this temporary closure. While no date or time is set for the reopening of the park, it is anticipated that the park will reopen once the site has drained.
