Councilmember Cody BeesonCody Beeson was elected in the 2007 General Election with over 60% of the ballots cast. His four year term runs through December 2011.

Cody was raised in Yuma, Arizona and graduated from Kofa High School in 2003. After seeking higher education at Full Sail in Winter Park, Florida, he earned a degree in recording engineering. It was then that Cody chose to return to his home town of Yuma to start a business of the same nature.

Cody took an interest in local government and politics at an early age. It was that interest that impressed upon him the desire to serve the public. Cody has been quoted as saying, “Staying informed with local current events shapes your life and the world around you. I feel I can play a positive role in shaping the future.”

One of the things that inspired Cody to run for City Council was the desire to provide diverse options for our youth, to ensure they are equipped to make the right choices for their future. A strong city will have options and choices that enforce a positive development and play a key role for our whole community. Speaking from experience Cody says, “Yuma is a great place to grow up and I want the youth growing up here today to have pride in their community.”

Cody Beeson plays an active role in the local community. He is currently a member of Toastmasters International, Yuma Community Theater, Yuma County Republican Party, Republican Precinct Committeeman, and Champion Church.
